Celebrating Women Who Serve their Global Community - Women's History Month

Dr. Treisha Thorpe and #keishiathorpe (Global Teacher "Nobel" Prize Winner) were honored by the PG County Executive's Office (MD) with the Prince George’s African Diaspora Advisory Board Award for Excellence in Teaching, to recognize their contributions and impact in the global community through their organization U.S. Elite International. The awards were presented to them during the Second Annual African Diaspora International Women’s Day event on March 17, 2023, to honor and celebrate women who are making a great impact in community building.

Recognized on March 8, International Women's Day is also one of the most important days of the year to: celebrate women's achievements, raise awareness about women's equality, lobby for accelerated gender parity, and fundraise for female-focused charities. This will require women all over the world to take collective action and shared ownership to make greater impacts in closing the gaps on economics, education, health, and politics.
